Do Verizon phones work on Royal Caribbean cruises?
My friend is on a Royal Caribbean cruise from Texas to the Caribbean. We both have Verizon Wireless cell phones. Will he be able to text me while he is away?

although the cruise ships let you use your phones on board, you get no service while at sea. I went on a cruise in December and i got the best service while i was at port. You get slammed with roaming fees, but it's better than using your state room phone, which charges you $7.00 per minute!

Cruise ships now have cell service, but they also have nasty roaming charges. I am not sure which brand of cell phones are compatible. You'd have to contact the cruise line to find out.

In short, no it will not work. You are in the middle of the sea, so you won't have cell service. Sorry.
