Best country for a Caribbean Vacation?
Can anyone suggest which is the best country for a week vacation in the Caribbean? Or the worst?
I highly recommend Barbados, it’s by far the best country/island I’ve ever been to.
I have been there 6 times and planning on coming back soon.
There are a lot to see/do in Barbados. Don’t forget to check out Rockley Beach known as Accra.
The route taxi/public transit is only 1.50 BDS per way.
As for its capital, Bridgetown, there’s duty-free shopping especially at Cave Shepherd which offers from books to gifts/souviers (sp?) to jewellery to clothing.
Food is a bit different to your taste, the only restaurant that’s well known recognized is KFC. That’s right, there’s NO McDonald’s and others. KFC there is somewhat different than in U.S.A., Canada… For budgetting, I’d suggest do groceries to save rather than on fast food. As an alternative to McDonald’s or something, there’s Big John’s/Chefette’s (sp?).
Other than Accra (Rockley Beach), check Miami/Entreprise beach in Oistins. There’s walking distance.
As for accommodation, if you’re budgetting, I’d highly recommend Pegwell Inn Guest House in Upper Welches, as it’s walking distance to a plaza, post office, beaches, etc.. The lady there is very lovely. That guest house is cheapest compared to others.
On another note, there are also Cave Shepherd store(s) outside the capital for your convience.. Sandy Lane beach is cool, too.
And no great white sharks around Barbados. You cannot resist those beautiful clear water and white, sandy beaches.
As for attractions, if interested, you can check Altantis Submarine, Jolly Roger, Animal Flower Cave, Harrison’s Cove. It might take a little of your money here and there, but it’s worth it. There’s also Barbados Muesum, so on as the list goes on!

The best thing to do is, go to http://www.readyforvacation.com there you can get a ton of valuable information on all different destinations and activities. Also the site allows you to CHAT LIVE with a travel consultant for free. The best thing to do is talk with one of their travel consultants online, where they can determine your likes/dislikes and suggest the best destinations for you. http://www.readyforvacation.com

The best in the Caribbean would depend on what exactly your looking for. My personal favorite would be St. Lucia. Most of the island is still in it’s natural form and breathtaking. Your not going to be bothered with crowded beaches or crime there, and the you’ll forget the world exist. Their are tons of attraction and it’s way more affordable than the other islands once you arrive. Barbados is another great choice if your looking for a more touristy island with nice attractions, but it is very expensive.

St Martin is beautiful. It has amazing beaches and some of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Half of the island is French and half is Dutch.
The French side is better for a romantic getaway as the beaches are a little quieter and it has lots of nice small hotels and quiet restaurants.
The Dutch side is better if you’re looking to party as there are lots of clubs and bars and casinos. If you’re going for a week or more, you may want to spend a few days on both sides.
Right now is off-peak as we are approaching hurricane season. Now’s a good time if you’re looking for a quiet getaway as we aren’t yet in peak hurricane season, but there will be few tourists. If you’re looking for lots of crowds and action, Nov-April is peak. It will be packed.
I highly reccomend the Alamanda Resort on the French side. A beautiful little hotel with great service, a super friendly staff a nice pool (though you woun’t need it as you’ll be right on the beach) and beautiful rooms.
Have fun!

I would say Cozumel, Mexico was the best. And then the Best out of the best was the seven mile beach in grand cayman
Jamaica the worst. I was 15 on the time and I was on a snorkeling expedition and all of the workers were drunk, dancing around. and falling off are little boat. and then they were said free punch for ever body, so I went and got some. it tasted terrible. then one of the not so drunk, but drunk guys came over and asked how old I was, he threw the cup over board. and one of the other drunk workers jumped in and got it. Its all true.

So much can depend on your budget. In my opinion, #1 for value, great beaches and friendly people is Cuba. Of course if you are American you are out of luck. At one time I used to work through the Caribbean so I would rate a few in this order: B.V.I., Barbados, Grenada. St. Lucia, the DR, (also inexpensive and great beaches.) St. Lucia. A handy site to check out before you book is trip advisor. It has lots of reviews which may help you select.

Personally I love Jamaica and Barbados. But if you are looking for a place with many different things to do I would recommend Grand Caymen.

Curacao has sooo much to do and see. The island retains it’s rich culture and beauty, while adding a modern touch to it. The beaches are spectacular, diving and snorkeling can be done without the need of a boat, the food is great, and the people are warm. The Island has a variety of things not found elsewhere, and some other things that can be found on some other islands as well.
Don’t miss the Dolphin Encounter, Ostrich Farm, Hato Caves, Macros Fish Farm and of course, the historic district of Punda and Otrabanda.

All of them. In my opinion the Caribbean is the most beautiful region in the world, and yes I lived in Hawaii. But if I had one choice I would say Dominican Republic.
